Finally, after much searching, I found a true "before" picture of our house. This pic is from the MLS listing in May 2010 when we first put an offer on the house. The grass was full of creeping charlie and crab grass. The shrubs were out of control. The siding was stained and damaged (well still is...at least for a few more weeks til the new siding is installed). Although you can't tell from the picture, the windows were original, from 1942, and were painted shut....yet not air tight at all. The porch on the side was hidden under thick shrubbery and the old screens were completely gone.
After the extensive list of complaints, you might wonder why on earth we bought this house. One simple reason - we fell in love with it. It just felt like home from the beginning. Through all the overgrown landscaping and the rough exterior, we saw the potential and knew we could make it "our home".
